Go into a shop ask to see their practice amps geaernl beginner amps. They can vary in price as not too expensive’ can cover quite a range. If you can, take any guitar knowledgable friends with you don’t put down your money on the counter if you’re not sure about an amp.The good shops won’t take your money unless you’re 100% sure on what you’re getting will work with you if, a week later, you decide to come back trade it for something else.Brand wise, on bass I started w/ Fender. Heck my amp head is still a Fender tho the cabinet is Ampeg! On guitar, my first guitar amp was a Gorilla brand amp. I think my dad got it for me for about $ 80. Had only 5 controls: volume, high, low, mid, distortion. When you’re starting out learning hard rock, whut more do you need, lol??Good luck!
